Rabbi Brant Rosen with Special Guests Gwen Macsai and Andrew White

After Israel’s military attack on Gaza in 2008-2009, Rabbi Brant Rosen, a congregational rabbi from Evanston, began to question his lifelong Zionist beliefs. Unlike the biblical Jacob, who wrestled with his conscience in the dark of night, Rosen chose to “wrestle in the daylight” with this issue through posts on his blog, Shalom Rav. Wrestling in the Daylight is a curated collection of the provocative conversation on Israel, Palestine, and Zionism that ensued. The dialogue between Rosen and his readers will be dramatized during this event, as Rabbi Rosen reads from his posts and special guests Gwen Macsai and Andrew White will "respond" with readers' comments. The reading will be followed by a Q&A between Rabbi Rosen and the audience.
